The Very Best Green Smoothie

Just because it's healthy doesn't mean it should taste bad! Here is a How-To recipe for my favorite green smoothie. I promise, you're going to like it!

Let's just pretend that my green smoothies always look this pretty even though I usually drink them from a plastic cup...

The Art of a Smoothie

From the title of this post you are already expecting a delicious and healthy green smoothie recipe. And that's exactly what I'm going to give you. But first, let us talk about the art of making a great smoothie...THERE IS NO ART!

That's right, there is no technique. My smoothies never taste the same because my "measurements" are here a little, there a little, with numerous taste tests in between. So bottomline, this smoothie "recipe" can and should be modified to fit your nutrition needs and taste buds!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana

  • Handful of spinach (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/2 cup mango (frozen)

  • 1/2 cup pineapple (frozen)

  • 1/2 cup almond milk or water

  • Dash of cinnamon or ginger

Optional Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (optional)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Honey (optional)

  • 1 orange (optional)

  • Juice from 1/2 a lemon or lime

Again, all of these ingredients are super easy to switch out to your liking. Measurements vary depending on how much you want to make but this recipe serves two!

Step 1:

Place everything BUT your liquid into the blender. Simple right?

I like using a bigger blender for this recipe because it blends easier. Some of my favorite blenders right now are Blendtec, Vitamix, and Ninja.

Step 2:

Add a little bit of liquid at a time for a thicker smoothie OR add all of the liquid at once for a more "juice-like" smoothie.

Step 3:

Blend all of your ingredients at a high speed until you are happy with the texture and flavor!

Step 4:

Serve it up and enjoy :)
