Experience food to its fullest through the best local restaurants and recipes.

Food is more than just getting your calories in for the day. Food is an experience, an experience that should be enjoyed. Not only do you deserve the best ingredients, you deserve the best restaurants Utah has to offer. So may your meals be delicious and your dining experiences exceed 5 stars.

Local Grubs

There is nothing worse than spending money on a meal that you could have made better at home. So let me spare you the anguish and the hole in your wallet before you try a new restaurant that sucks.

What makes a great restaurant is more than just how good the food tastes, it's the whole experience.

Is there always a wait on weekends?

How long did it take for the waiter to greet you and take your drink order?

Can you reserve seating ahead of time?

Was there complimentary chips and salsa served before your meal?

Was the food actually worth the price?

All of these questions are things I take into account when reviewing a restaurant. So take it from me, and you'll get to know every hole-in-the-wall restaurant worth trying, chain restaurants to avoid, and small businesses well-worth supporting. You can count on honest, non-biased reviews that will send you in the right direction. The direction to GREAT food.

And don't be alarmed when half of the restaurants I review have incredible dessert... because that's where my foodie heart dwells.

Favorite Finds

The greatest meals usually start with the greatest ingredients. But with several grocery stores to choose from locally, where can you really shop the "greatest" ingredients? I go to several different stores for specific ingredients, bargains, (and desserts). So on this blog you will find my current favorite prices, produce, obscure ingredients, and everything in between. No matter what you're looking for, let me do the trial and error shopping for you!

It can be intimidating shopping for yourself, trust me, I failed miserably at first. I had no idea that Walmart produce was low tier (at best). I didn't even know there were weekly sales ads at Smiths. It would be a crime to let someone fail so miserably at grocery shopping like I did. So whether you're in college, live alone, or prefer to shop for yourself, there will be plenty of tips on how to shop and cook for one on this blog.

Now, shopping for your entire family is where it gets tricky. But have no fear, Gracie is here for all of you mamas (and papas) who grocery shop. Finding food that will last longer than a few days is so important when feeding a household. Finding food that will fit in your family budget is also crucial. I get the dilemma of trying to please 4+ people when you come home with groceries. So not only will my "favorite finds" be catered to your own needs, but they will make the several mouths you feed happy too!

Recipes

"How did I mess this up again?"

In my book, making food should be do-able. Recipes should have a 90% success rate, not a 95% failing rate. It's exhausting to spend hours making dinner every night and wondering "what did I mess up this time?" after trying a new recipe.

Here, you don't have to worry about difficulty level or time consumption when trying a recipe. This is a safe place for you amateurs in the kitchen. You will find a variety of recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner, dessert, and (my favorite) snack time that all follow one rule: fast, affordable, and do-able. Because, sorry Gordon Ramsay, but it really shouldn't be much more complicated than that!

I hope to make preparation easier for every meal so you can enjoy the food you eat. So take that frozen burrito out of the microwave and listen! Because here, Grubs are a full time job.
